Eight Liverpool stars have had their injuries updated by Jurgen Klopp ahead of the match against Newcastle.

Jurgen Klopp has announced that Virgil van Dijk is ready to start, which will help ease Liverpool’s lengthy injury list ahead of their Premier League trip to Newcastle.

After fully recovering from a hamstring injury, Virgil van Dijk is anticipated to start for Liverpool against Newcastle.

The center-back was on the bench for Monday’s 2-0 win over Everton despite not playing since the team’s 3-1 loss at Brentford at the start of 2023. For the Saturday night match against the Newcastle United, Jurgen Klopp says that the Reds’ Van Dijk is “absolutely ready” to play.

The ability of Roberto Firmino and Diogo Jota to start against the Magpies, who are currently fourth in the Premier League and nine points ahead of Liverpool with one more game remaining, is less certain. Klopp acknowledges that the two forwards “need the time” to regain their previous levels of fitness even though they came off the bench against Everton.

As soon as we could, we tried to give Firmino and Jota a few minutes, according to Klopp. “No matter what you do in practice, the first 10 to 15 minutes of a game feel like torture. “.

In the EFL Cup in December, Firmino suffered a calf injury while Jota missed two months of action after suffering a serious hamstring injury in the league against the same opponents.

Even though neither player is healthy enough to start this weekend’s match against Newcastle, their cameos against the Toffees were appreciated by the Anfield faithful as they give Klopp many more attacking options.

Less optimistic prognoses can be made for the other Liverpool athletes receiving treatment. Luis Diaz, a winger, suffered a serious knee injury against Arsenal in October and won’t be able to play again until March. Thiago, a midfielder who missed the Merseyside Derby due to a hip injury, can also be said to be in this situation.

While recovering from a hamstring injury suffered against Brighton in the FA Cup in late January, center back Ibrahima Konate might make a comeback toward the end of February.

As the midfielder recovers from a thigh problem of his own, Arthur, who has suffered from a string of injuries, is working toward a comparable timeline.
